LOVE GOD & LOVE PEOPLE

Our Purpose is Love

"You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."

"This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ' You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

-Matthew 22:37-39

MAKE DISCIPLES

Our Mission is Discipleship

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that i commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

-Matthew 28:19-20

Our Beliefs

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life (1 Thessalonians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21)

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; Matt 28:19; I Cor. 8:6; 1 John 5:7)

The Pequot Lakes Baptist Church is here to lead you into a life-changing and productive relationship with Jesus Christ. “We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice, that all who believe on Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.” (1 Cor. 15:3-4; Revelation 1:5)

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate. We believe in the personal, visible, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church and in His coming in Glory with the believers to set up His Kingdom upon the earth (I Corinthians 15:4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-16; I John 2:1-2; I Thess. 4:13-17; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-15)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son, and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment; and that at conversion He baptizes the believer into the body of Christ. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies, and helps the believer, indwelling every true child of God. (John 16:8-14; 3:3-7)

We believe that man was created in the image of God by direct creation and that he sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; thus, we believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners and, apart from Christ, shall be forever separated from God. (Gen. 1:26; 2:17; Ezekiel 18:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23)

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God. We believe that once saved, we are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever. (Eph. 2:8-9; John 3:3,7; 1:12; 10:27-29)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in Heaven; and the bodily resurrection of the unjust and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in a literal Hell as described in Luke 16 and Mark 9:42-50.

We believe in the Church—a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people in this age are members. We believe that a local church is accompany of believers in Jesus Christ, immersed after a confession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that the local church is the center of God’s program for this age, and that every Christian, as God leads by Scriptures, give his service to his local church, (Matt 16:16-18; I Cor 12:12-17; Acts 2:42-47; I Timothy 3:15-16; Romans 12:4-8)
