Purpose for PLBC's Youth Group

Our purpose as the PLBC Youth Group is to preach God’s Word. We are also committed to disciple young believers (Matthew 28:19-20), grow in the truth of God and love the youth and their families. Youth group is for 7th through 12th graders.

Vision for PLBC’s Youth Group

To see unbelievers become saved. There are a lot of teenagers that walk through our doors on Sunday morning and on Wednesday evenings. Our prayer is that through preaching God’s Word and showing the youth what it looks like to be loved, these youth would be convicted of their sin by God and turn to a point of repentance and acceptance of salvation.

Disciple young believers. As we continue to see youth come to a point of accepting the gift of salvation and a desire to commit their lives to Christ, we try to disciple their walk with the Lord, encourage them, and help them along with struggles and questions they might have.

Involvement. We believe that the youth are not separated form the “church”. So, in believing that, we encourage and challenge the youth to involve themselves to participate in church activities that are not just youth orientated. We also encourage the youth to involve themselves in helping set up/tear down at those events.  

To be challenged. The main time that the youth spend here at the church, should be time strengthening their walk with the Lord, and being challenged to share the gospel and grow relationships with other church members. We challenge them to know what they believe and why they believe in it. We give them tools to be equipped and knowledge of how to read the bible for its truth.
